Home Exercise Program
Whether it's headache pain or all the way down to toe pain, if it is musculoskeletal in origin, we have the appropriate home exercise program for you!
A home exercise program includes educational concepts, stretching, strengthening, and pain-relief methods that your physical therapist prescribes. We generally refer to this as your “homework.” Some of us are better at performing and sticking to our homework than others, so we want to make sure what home program style best fits your personality and available time. Physical therapy is most successful when the physical therapist prescribes the proper exercises and the client is consistent with performance between sessions.
At Whole Body Health Physical Therapy, you get to work one-on-one with your personal Doctor of Physical Therapy who will take the time to educate you on your condition and help you to understand how you can play a role in directing your health and healing. You are given a personalized home exercise program based on your specific needs. Each tailored exercise, stretch, or general technique is taught to you with the understanding of what area(s) should be targeted. Our goal is for you to completely understand why you are performing these activities at home which includes education on anatomy and biomechanics (how your muscles, bones, and joints move). By the end of physical therapy, you should be able to explain your condition and understand what you have to do to continue management if necessary.
We want to make sure you succeed with your program, so we try to make it easy for you to use. We are the only physical therapy clinic in Oregon that uses a new system called StriveHub. StriveHub is an electronic program that includes videos and pictures to help you remember your activities correctly. If you prefer not to use the computer, no worries! We offer email and printed handouts to suite your needs.
Whole Body Health Physical Therapy emphasizes communication between sessions so that you do not feel lost or confused between treatments. We commonly talk to our clients through email, the StriveHub system, and over the phone, if preferred, when they are not in the clinic. By doing this, we can closely monitor your home progress, gym routines, and general symptoms with self-management.
